Testimonials
Norwest
Child Care Centre believes that it is only through a ‘community
approach’ that we can provide the best possible care for your children.
This approach means that we work very closely with our families to
ensure that the individual needs of the children and parents are met
each day.
Outlined below are some of the features and benefits of the centre, and what some of our parents have said about them
Dedicated and motivated staff
“I feel the staff personally take an interest in the children and their families, they go beyond their job requirements.”
Award Winning Centre
“Staff training and seeing staff being promoted can only speak for
itself. Happy staff create great morale and a ‘first class’ day care
centre”
Teaching strong moral values
“I found this day-care centre to be a very comfortable environment
where I don’t have issues on a daily basis. A carefree, headache free,
friendly environment which also re-enforces what we teach our children
at home”.
“My children learn
sharing, respect, discipline and manners. This is very important to us
as their parents, but also it gives us reassurance knowing that they
will be better equipped to handle situations for school years and in
other situations where they are amongst lots of other children. I have
found that they display much more confidence when interacting with
other kids now and understand rules, limits and the consequences of bad
behaviour. Having this reinforced at daycare is priceless”.
Parent Buddying Group
“I enjoy being a part of the buddy group. I know when I was a new
parent to day care I felt very lost. I would have loved to have had
another parent to bounce things off”.
“Opens up discussion channels amounts parents and ways to live the ‘daycare process’”
Location & Hours of Operation
“Parents are always made to feel welcome at any time”
“I work 800m from the centre. I love knowing that I could even just ‘pop in’ to say hello to my beautiful boys”
“Easily accessible and easy to park…not on a main road – important for safety and privacy”
“Its
comforting knowing that I am only minutes away from the children in the
event of an emergency. The hours of operation are fanastic…generally
it’s a 9-5 thing for my kids, but on the odd day when I am late leaving
work, I know another haf an hour won’t be a problem and the kids like
me being late because they get an extra afternoon tea snack!”
“The hours are great and it’s nice to walk in at 7am to bubbly, smiley faces who are happy to be there to greet your children”
Competitive fees
“I am happy with the fees, well worth the money”
“When we were first enquiring, we found the fees to be comparable”
“At
Norwest the fee structure was changed to allow for any families with
more than one child at the centre OR any families who have children
that attend 5 days to have discounts. This came from a request from the
Parent Interest Group, and helps to keep fees down”
“I
am a firm believer in the theory that ‘you get what you pay for’. I do
not for a minute begrudge paying someone to care for my children
especially when it is being done by highly trained staff in a totally
safe and comfortable environment. The centre is fully air conditioned
so the kids aren’t exposed to extreme weather conditions which is peace
of mind especially when they are so young. The staff numbers are always
more than adequate, improvements and additions are always being made to
the centre, and with these few things in mind it is clear to me that
the fees are quite affordable. We have always been happy with the
provisions given by the centre to our kids”.
Coded Security
“This
is a great sense of security for my child and peace of mind for me as a
parent to know that it is only families that are given access to the
centre”
High ratio of professionally trained staff
“There is a display in the foyer showing all the staff training levels
and accreditations and it’s clear that the centre has a team of
experienced, highly qualified carers. Furthermore, the centre is very
pro-active in continual training and development for their staff.”
All provided, including nutritious meals
“Very good standards, great food and I know my son likes what he is
given. Somedays thrilled with himself that he managed to eat some
vegetables. A practice which is not always obeyed at home!”
“My son
loves the food at Norwest, he regularly has up to 4 serves of lunch,
and has been know to have up ot 6 serves. It is comforting that if he
doesn’t eat much dinner, that I know he has been eating healthily
throughout the day”
“It
is very reassuring knowing your kids will be given nutritious fresh,
healthy, balanced meals during their day. I particularly appreciate the
work and efforts of the chef because on of my children suffers from a
peanut allergy and for any parent familiar with childhood food related
allergies, there is no greater fear. . I have total confidence in the
centre as they have a complete understanding of do’s and don’ts and
always check with me if they are in doubt. The centre often sends home
information to all parents enducating and highlight to them the risks
and dangers of sending their kids to the centre with food that may
contain nuts etc. The biggest battle for me with this allergy is other
people’s ignorance, which certainly doesn’t exist at Norwest. In fact
several of the staff have had hands-on training in administering
epi-pen mediation in the event of anaphylaxis. What more could I ask
for as a parent”
Other parent feedback and comments
“It took us a long time to find something we like as parents. I like
the fact that the centre has a very open, fresh appeal to
it….surrounded with lovely plants. Other centres can seem really
closed-in and have a very sterile look about them”
“Our
centre is a fun and vibrant place for our children to attend…..I call
it ‘our’ because I know even my 5 year old who also went to Norwest
will have no hesitations accompanying his younger brother during school
holidays because he knows he will have a fun day. I am proud of the
centre and the girls who run it. They are doing a fantastic job.”
Ms V. Sharma, mother of 2 boys and 1 girl.
“The
Staff are Norwest Child Care Centre are friendly and welcoming, willing
to listen and communicate. The centre has a sense of community where
families are encouraged to be involved in numerous ways including the
Parent Interest Group, discos, fundraising and traditional celebrations
(Christmas and Easter). The children are stimulated and grow within a
caring and interesting environment”
Ms N Taig, Mother of 2.
“The
atmosphere is very happy and caring. Our daughter is always happy to
come to Norwest Child Care Centre. The carers all seem to have a
genuine affection for the children. We never have any regrets about
leaving our daughter because we know she is safe and happy. The daily
program offers a wide variety of activities for the children.”
Ms L Welch, mother of one girl.
“Some of the aspects of the centre that are really important to parents like me, and I love about Norwest Child Care Centre are:
The Culture – of staff in front of customers (a positive
approach and consistency in policies)
Emergent Curriculum for the children
Lots of themed activities – eg sports days, picnic lunches etc
Empowerment of the children (eg using tongs to serve selves)
Purpose Built Centre – spacious rooms, appropriately fenced
off areas of play for younger children.
Health and Safety – playground areas have no concrete, and
are custom built
Discipline Practices – time out etc”
E Smith, mother of 2 boys
“One
of the best features of Norwest Child Care Centre is the open
communication afforded to the parents by the carers. All parents are
keen to hear about even the smallest little event in the day of their
child and it’s great the carers show interest and enthusiasm when they
convey this to us parents, often at the end of their hectic day! They
keep fantastic day books complete with digital pics form the days
events, which is an awesome insight into my children’s day. Tis’ also
great knowing what happened during the day, so I can talk about events
of the day with the kids on the way home."
I
would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending the centre to
anyone considering childrcare options, our kids are the most important
thing in the world to us and we wouldn’t have it any other way”
Ms A Reid, mother of 2 girls.
“The
day books are a great, innovative idea that gives us parents an insight
into our child’s day. This then can lead to dinner time conversation
about their day. The centre also has approachable staff whom you are
comfortable talking to whether it be positive / negative.”
Ms L Burrow, mother of 3 girls.
