Midson Road Child Care Centre

We are delighted to announce that Midson Road Child Care Centre are the proud winners of the Australian Family Fisher-Price National Child Care Centre of the Year in 2008!                      Well done to all of our team for their oustanding efforts.

Established in 1998, Midson Road Child Care Centre is owned and operated by the same family as Norwest Child Care Centre.

Nestled in the leafy suburb of Epping, it is a 50 place centre, again catering for children from birth to school age. The centre is open from 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday 49 weeks of the year.

The fundamental principles of the business are the same:

• High professional staff ratios
• A dedicated and loving team of motivated carers
• A warm and personal service that meets the needs of our families
• Comprehensive child development program with full educational pre-school program

There are some subtle differences at the centre, reflecting the varied needs of families in that area. We invite you to come to the centre for a tour.

The Centre is managed by:

Melinda Ellis (Bach Teach – Early Childhood, Bach Ed – Spec Ed).

On staff we also have 2 Early Childhood Teachers, 3 Associate Diploma Trained Staff, 3 staff who have completed their Certificate III in Children’s Services (and are now studying their Associate diploma) and 3 staff currently completing their Certificate III. As well as our lovely chef Wayne! Many of our staff have been working at the centre for over 5 years, and families value the staff consistency.

The Gumnuts Room

For our youngest children, nurtures you baby in the crucial first stages of their development. With up to 20 babies and toddlers each day, our staff provide a comprehensive program with lots of stimulating, but gentle activities. This is the room we all love to work in as there are so many cuddles each day!

The Possums Room

For our 2-4 year olds, who are growing in their independence and social skills. We have around 12 Possums each day, and the two staff working with these children are focused on their intellectual and emotional development. Watching children grow through this age is an amazing journey that we love to share with our families.

The Koalas / Preschool Room

For 3-5 year olds this room focuses on their cognitive development and refines their social interactions. Our comprehensive preschool ‘pull out’ program (ie separate from the other children) provides excellent grounding in the fundamentals of maths, sciences, reading, writing, listening, sharing, music and problem solving.
