Features and Benefits
Conveniently Located
Being located within Norwest Business Park is convenient to many families who live and work in the local area. Your children are close to you at work, in case of emergencies, or if you’d just like to drop in for a visit. You are also not pressured to leave work at a particular time to pick up your children, so you can be more flexible in your working hours.
Competitive Fees
Our fees are kept as low as possible, and in line with other centres in the area. Whilst returning a profit to the owners, and providing top quality resources for our children and staff, our aim is to keep child care affordable for our families.
High Professional Staff Ratios
You can be confident that your child is in trained, experienced hands. At Norwest Child Care Centre, we employ well above the standard level of trained and experienced staff. For children under the age of 12 months, our staffing levels are higher than what you may find at Family Day Care
Best in the Hills District
Norwest Child Care Centre is a multi award winning centre, time and time again demonstrating what first class care is all about. Take a look at our awards page for more details.
Commitment to High Quality Care
The National Childcare Accreditation Council (NCAC) aims to support families in finding quality care for their children. NCAC sets quality standards for child care centres, aiming to ensure children's health and safety and to promote play, learning and development through positive experiences and interactions.
Each child care centre in NSW is required to undergo the “Accreditation Process” whereby they are independently certified to be either a “High Quality” service, or not. At our recent accreditation review, we were awarded 100% ‘high quality’ in all areas of review. A 'perfect score'!
Other Features and Benefits:
Teaching strong moral values
As a part of our philosophy to child care, we re-enforce the values that parents teach their children at home, and provide experiences with other children to demonstrate and practice those values.
Parent Groups
A great opportunity for parents to meet informally with the management team and staff, and help shape the strategy and direction of the centre. We review current practices, policies and procedures, plan for the future and discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the centre. Parents also use this opportunity to meet and socialize with other families.
Impeccable Safety Record
We have regular independant, external audits to review a range of aspects concerning safety around our centre - from food handling, to hygiene, to OHS and more. Each time we receive incredibly high results (often 'perfect' scores!). Our staff are incredible proud that the hard work they do, and the systems, processes and procedures we have in place, ensure that our children are safe at all times.
Everything provided, including nutritious meals
The convenience of dropping off your child, without having to worry about what to pack for lunch is a benefit to many busy families. In addition to any bottles provided, all children are provided with nutritious balanced meals, meeting at least 50% of their daily needs, with a focus on fresh, healthy foods. Our chef prepares a wide variety of fresh meals every day, and the children really enjoy them! In addition, all nappies, sunscreen etc are provided each day.
Dedicated and motivated staff
Our staff are recruited and retained based on their dedication to their job and their love of working with children. Our management team are then devoted to ensuring that they are constantly motivated and inspired to provide excellent child care services. The benefit to our children is a much higher level of care and quality individual interactions.
Long hours of operation
Our extended opening hours – from 7am to 6.30pm means that your working day is as flexible as possible.
Family Grouping
At many times throughout the day, children from the same family, but in different age groups, are encouraged to play together. This strengthens the bonds of a family and helps them to settle into the centre.
Coded Security
Our coded security system means that it is only families of the centre that are given access to the buildings. Our open doors policy means that you can come and go at any time, and the security system gives you peace of mind that your children are in a safe environment.
Ongoing Commitment to staff development and training
Norwest Child Care Centre is committed to ongoing staff development and training. Each staff member has a professional and personal development program which is reviewed / renewed every six months during our staff appraisal process.
We actively encourage staff to continue learning and developing, and have succession plans and programs in place.
Our aim is to reduce staff turnover by providing a satisfying and rewarding workplace that allows staff to grow and develop in all aspects of their lives.
Our current staff turnover rates (10%) are well below the industry average (40-50%). We have won a number of awards for our best practice in staff management and leadership.
